Program in Međimurje County: “Tourism and local gastronomy”, Wine Road on the Road of Tradition…

The sightseeing starts with the sightseeing of Zrinski Park and the Museum of Međimurje. A welcome party at the Museum Atrium with a welcome drink, a glass of champagne, violin and music by Josip Štolcer Slavenski.

The museum curators will tell you the historical story of the famous Croatian noble family Zrinski and its tragic end but also one of the most beautiful love stories and separation of Petar Zrinski and Katarina Zrinski.

After a tour of the Old Town of the Zrinski and a short walk to the center of Čakovec head towards the Upper Međimurje. You’ll find out why Međimurje is the cradle of Croatian cuisine and Croatian flower garden.”

Arrival at the resort Međimurski Dvori and “The road of tradition” follow the cooking show in space Ethno art Chef culinary workshops and demonstration of Međimurje pastry, Tasting cheese, honey, wine, and desserts Međimurje. A tour of the Ethno garden and after a tour of the property followed by traditional Međimurje obed- lunch. After lunch, we leave the route of the Wine Road Međimurje to the wineries and curia Terbotz – the story of the “Međimurje wine road” – wine tasting. Departure to Thermae St. Sveti Martin, accommodation at hotel Golf, free time for wellness and swimming until dinner.

Breakfast, check out from the hotel and go in the direction of Lower Međimurje.

A short tour of the city of Prelog, driving in the direction of the Lower Hraščane visit “Međimurje museum- Ethnographic Collection of dr. Juraj Kolarić- From cradle to grave”. The collection consists of buildings and several commercial buildings that make up the whole of a 2415 sqm property, bearing the name “Bohnec’s Estate” since it was once the property of immigrants from Bohemia (Czech Republic). The collection was started in 2004. The ethnographic collection is on a parcel divided into two parts. The first part is dominated by a statue of St. Juraj Knight martyrs, “Bohnec House”, “Hižec” and “Old House”, and on the second or the Economic yard is dominated by backing an agricultural, farming facilities with a statue of a cow “Šeka and calf Bebek” and “Well with čiga”.

Departure in the direction of the Lower Kraljevac and visit to the Center Rudolf Steiner follows the presentation and short story about this visionary. Rudolf Steiner is the creator of bio-dynamic agriculture. The founder of science on human wisdom, anthroposophies, devoted his life to seeking an exit from the flaw of modern man and to referring to humanity the need for a radical change of man’s relationship to nature and himself. He was the only “esoteric” who has transformed his spiritual visions into practice, now known and recognized throughout the world.

On the spiritual-scientific foundations, he founded the Waldorf pedagogy, biological dynamic agriculture, anthroposophic medicine and health pedagogy .. which is now applied in the most prestigious institutions on all continents. After a short tour of the center and lectures, there is a departure to Koprivnica-Križevci County and the discovery of Eden on “Tourism and Local Intangible Heritage”.

Upon arrival in Đurđevac embarking on a tour of the Museum of Đurđevac and fortifications Old Town.

3. day Breakfast, check out of the hotel and go to visit geographic and botanical reserve Đurđevački sands. It is a protected botanical area, a peculiar habitat with a large number of endemic species, unique flora and fauna, and visible forms of sand dunes, ie the remains of “Croatian Sahara”. The area occupies about 20 hectares and part of it was declared a special geo-botanical reserve in 1963 as an easily recognizable and unique place in Croatia with the intent of preserving the peculiarities of vegetation, where only certain plant species could develop and adapt to sandy life conditions; among others, over 300 species of butterflies. With endemic species are visible remnants of sand dunes. After sightseeing of Đurđevac sands, follows the departure to Lika-Senj County and discovering why this destination was declared Eden destination on the topic: “Tourism and protected areas”, a nice ride in the direction of Northern Velebit NP and Krasno. Arrival in Krasno, accommodation in the hotel. For lunch we will enjoy Lika’s specialties and in the afternoon we suggest visiting the House of Velebit. The Velebit House is spread over four floors and covers a number of thematic units intertwined and interspersed with each other so that the richness of Velebit, its diversity and cultural and natural value can be better demonstrated. At the heart of the story is man and his direct and indirect influence on nature and natural values. In the past, the inhabitants of Velebit lived in a nomadic way of life, cut the woods, shepherd livestock, built stone dwellings – shelters and drywall, creating new habitats – lawns, grasslands and the like, and influenced on the numerous species of plant and animal life. n the Velebit House you will find out about the vastness of this diversity – various insects and birds, large beasts, endemic plant species adapted to extreme living conditions … But the value of this mountain is not only in the number of plant, animal and fungal species but also in its landscape diversity. The reason for this is the many superficial limestone forms – sinkholes, beams, hips, walls … just some of them. But the story of how they came to be read in the House of Velebit! After the House of Velebit we go to socialize and meet people and customs of this wonderful Croatian mountain region. We will visit the cheese factory Runolist, taste the finest cheeses of Lika, after that we will go to the neighboring household and visit the family that transformed part of their house into a wonderful ethnographic collection and the valuable hands of hosts and hostess will offer you great local liqueurs, then we will jump to neighboring house and OPG Lulić to a cup of fragrant Velebit tea that will enchant you with its scents and taste of Velebit. Back to hotel, dinner and overnight.

4. day Breakfast, accompanied by a local guide, then leaving to Zavižan to the meteorological station. A short break and walk along the educational path to Velebit botanical garden. Return to the Krasno and lunch and Visit the Shrine of Mother of God of Krasno. After visiting the shrine, continue to SMILJANA and visit the MEMORIAL CENTER OF NIKOLA TESLA. Visit the theme park with expert guidance; Tesla’s Birthplace, Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul, Tesla test station, multimedia center. After Smiljana follows, drive towards Nin and towards the new Eden destination in the Zadar County which won Eden on the topic: “Tourism along the water”.Arrival in Nin, accommodation in hotel, dinner at the tavern “Dalmatia”. 5. day Breakfast. The first capital of Croatian kings from the 9th century, with not only the exception of a rich cultural heritage – including the smallest cathedral in the world – offers you health tourism as well as enjoying the traditional salt production from the Roman times. All the secrets of the Croatian people, many say, are hidden in the walls of Nin, a town just 14 km from Zadar. But Nin is not just a historic town – thanks to the healing mud that lies in the western part of the Nin Bay, it is also proud of its health tourism. For 40 years, the Medical Center in Zadar uses mud peloid in the treatment of rheumatic diseases, spinal problems and skin diseases, while the unique geographic position of the lagoon offers ideal weather conditions for the relief of respiratory distress. Nin offers ideal vacation conditions (habitat of various bird species, beautiful long sandy beaches, preserved nature) and recreation (surfing thanks to bura and maestral), enjoyment in cultural heritage, but also in a unique museum, the  such first in our beautiful Croatia a Salt Museum. After breakfast, walk to the first Croatian royal town with viewing: Sculpture of Bishop Grgur of Nin, church of St. Cross – known as the smallest cathedral in the world, Parish Church, Museum of Nin Antiquities, church of St. Anselma, church of St. Nicholas … After breakfast, walk the first Croatian royal town with views: Sculpture of Bishop Gregory of Nin, St.. 6. day Breakfast. Transfer to ŠIBENIK where we upon arrival go to a guided tour of the city. Today you will see a valuable building under the protection of UNESCO’s heritage, the cathedral of St. Jakov, who represents an exceptional example of architecture and artistic value. The rest of the old town is full of history. After sightseeing, free time for activities of your choice, lunch or shopping. Return to Nin with stopping in Zadar, a guided tour, a walk through the historical center of the city with a visit to the Roman Forum, the unique church of St. Donat, cathedral of St. Stošije, church of St. Mary, Church of St. Krševan (currently being renewed!), The church of St. Šime, church and monastery of St. Fran with a magnificent Renaissance claustrum, a sightseeing of the Land Gate and the City Walls, the Five Wells Square, the National Square and certainly the Sea Organ and Greetings to the Sun. Dinner in Zadar and return to Nin. Overnight stay. 7. day Breakfast, check out from the hotel and departure towards Istria with occassional stops for refreshments and rest. Arrival in Istria County to Svetvinčenat, accommodation in Stancija 1904 in Smoljanica, dinner and overnight in Stancija 1904.

8.day Breakfast. At 10:00 h departure to Vodnjan. Followed by the city tour and visit the church of St. Blaž where one of the largest collections of mummies in the world is located. Visit to the eco-museum Vodnjan, which offers a variety of workshops that revive the old customs of Vodnjan. At the end of the workshop, we head towards Svetvinčenat. Across almost the entire northern side of the Place lies the stone fortress Morosini-Grimani, the most preserved on the peninsula and the largest Svetvinčenat building that has for centuries been a symbol of the place and destination, formerly soldiers, guests of the gentry, travelers and merchants, and today curious passers-by and tourists. Today, Kaštel is one of the most beautiful Venetian buildings of that time in Istria. On three corners of three towers, the fourth-palace with rooms for gentlemen and the Captain`s apartment. All four entrances to the city were controlled from these towers. The towers are connected by the ramparts, which have a supporting wall on the outside, and the entire length of the balcony from which the guards watched through the openings of the loophole. At the door, besides the moving bridge, there was a large lifting grid. Above the entrance is the coat of arms of the castle, the present coat of arms of Svetvinčenat, and the coat of arms of the family of Grimani di San Luca. Inside, besides the wide yard, there was the apartment of the manager’s office, the public storage and ammunition depot, the gun room, the rooms for 200 musketeers and spearmen and a very secure prison-under-ground. Departing to Witch’s House Mare. Mare’s Witch House is a center for visitors devoted to the diverse material and immaterial cultural heritage of Svetvinčenat, interpreted by contemporary technologies: 3D mapping, virtual and expanded reality. 9. day Breakfast and departure to Rabac followed by free time for swimming, fun at the Aquapark and your own programs. In the afternoon we head for Labin to a joint Istrian lunch and then we head to Pićan where we come at about 6 pm at Legendfest, a traditional Istrian festival of legends, myths and folk tales. Back to the hotel, overnight.10.day Breakfast, check-out of the hotel and departure by buses towards the starting place. Arrangement can be realized throughout the year for groups of 8 to 40 people. Accommodation is possible on family farms and in three or four star hotels. Transportation is organized with tourist bus.
